Duroplastic processing
- Injection molding machines with closing forces ranging from 350 to 500 KN
- Injection moldings ranging from 0.2 to 100 grams in weight
Duroplastic molding compounds are high-quality design materials which have a firm place in many engineering applications.
With its excellent mechanical, chemical and electrical properties, Duroplast achieves impressive results during substitution of metals (e.g. aluminium and zinc die cast components).
In contrast to thermoplastics, duroplasts consist of thermally irreversible cross-linked macromolecules. This results in a great many positive characteristics:
- High strength, rigidity and surface hardness
- High dimensional stability
- Low thermal expansion coefficient, uniformity of length, width and height
- Good thermomechanical behaviour
- Low creep tendency
- High chemical resistance
- No stress corrosion
- Low swelling
- High thermal resistance
- Favourable fire behaviour without halogenated flame retardants
- Safety reserves at temperature peaks
- High electrical and thermal insulating properties
- High resistance to media
